CREATE A MINI SITE TO BOOST SALES....

How to Use Mini-Sites to Target Your Advertising and Boost Your Sales
by Derrick Van Dyke

Mini-sites are the absolute best way to sell your products and services online. They are specifically designed to collect leads and make sales. And, they can be used to sell almost any type of product (including hard goods).

For those who don't know, a mini-site is comprised of one or two Web pages, a killer sales letter, a subscription form, and an order form. The benefit is that you can target a specific audience and get them to make a buying decision without any distractions.

The "King" of mini-sites, Mark Joyner, uses this simple concept to generate millions of dollars every year. You can duplicate his success and boost your sales by up to 1800% with mini-sites.

Here's how it works...

The primary goal of a mini-site is to sell a specific product to a specific audience. The secondary goal (or backup response) is to collect leads, follow up, and make more sales. If you give too many choices (links to other sites, freebies, banners, affiliate links, etc.), you'll end up confusing your prospects
and losing their interest.

What you want is to draw the prospect in to your sales letter with a headline that grabs their attention and then give them a reason to keep reading and order your product.

People don't search for products. They search for information in order to make an educated decision about which product to purchase (and many purchases are made purely on impulse).

That's what is so great about mini-sites! There is nothing else for the prospect to do except read your letter. And, if you your letter reads like an informational article, prospects won't feel pressured.

Let's say you sell an ebook called "How to Lose Weight Fast." Here's what you need to create a money-making mini-site:

1. A simple, fast-loading Web page (just one). No Flash. No images that take forever to download. Keep it simple.

2. A killer headline that grabs the reader's attention. For example, "Lose 50 Pounds in 30 Days - Guaranteed."

3. A sales letter that reads like an article and covers the main benefits of the product. This could start with a story about how Joe lost 50 pounds in 30 days.

4. A strong close with an incentive to buy now and a rock-solid guarantee. Offer a few bonus items IF they order today.

5. A simple order form with real-time credit card processing. This is a crucial element. If you make the ordering process too complicated, customers will click away.

If you make new customers send in checks, sign up for a Pay Pal account or choose from five different shipping options, you may be losing sales.

A satisfied customer will be more willing to jump through hoops to get your product. But, initially, you should keep it as simple as possible.

Mini-sites are perfect for information products. But, what if you sell hard goods?

Take nutrition products for example. Instead of directing all your prospects to your shopping cart (where they have too many choices), sell your lead product to a target audience and then sell other products on the back end.

Let's say your best seller is a weight-loss formula. You create a web page with an article about how Joe lost 50 pounds in 30 days. Add "before and after" pictures, a killer headline, and an order form, and you have a perfect mini-site.   Now you can target your advertising specifically to people who
want to lose weight. Then, you can introduce other products to your current customers by following up with email messages and sending them to your shopping cart.

Like I said in the last issue, "It's 10 times easier to sell to an existing customer than it is to find a new one."

Why waste money (or time) on unfocused advertising when you can target a specific audience and generate more sales?

Instead, create mini-sites for your best sellers and then cross-merchandise your other products.

While this concept won't work for every type of business, it will work for most. Use your imagination and come up with your own mini-site concept.

Yours in Success,  Derrick Van Dyke
