Thanks for joining the Lobby Decorating Committee.  Volunteers will design & create props, as well as decorate the lobby area before the show.  We will transform the Salem County College’s Foyer area into our own Magical Presentation of 4 Disney Shows.  There will be a variety of work to be done in order to make this happen and I’ll be sure that there is a job for everyone!

5 Decorating Focal Points:

ticket booth aREA, between the 2 columns, to feature the Fairies that will take us on the journey of our show, we want it to be an enchanted entry.

SNACK SHACK will be the TIANA’S PLACE featuring characters from the Princess & Frog

Theater Entrance stairways will be the large tower which Rapunzel is locked in, along with some characters from Tangled AND other side will be Dwarfs’ Cottage, Snow White & Evil Queen.

Vendor areas will feature Hercules characters & Greek Décor

*As we develop ideas for the Lobby Decoration they will be posted online.  This will serve as a way for team members to see what is going on and to refer to for movie screen shots for inspiration.   www.idcwebs.com/believe_show.htm

·       Ideas?? We are always open to suggestions & feedback!!!

·        We will need to see what kind of items people have at home that we can borrow and incorporate into our design.  Let us know what you have!

·        Start SAVING YOUR CARDBOARD!  We are looking for CLEAN, LARGE boxes to paint on.  Boards that have deep ridges are not good, the smoother the better.  Flat Screen TV, Appliances, Long & Tall.

·        SAVE your Styrofoam Egg Carton’s – they make great paint trays!

·        SUPPLIES: DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE THE CONTAINER OF GLUE GUNS HAS GONE? WE ARE MISSING THEM. L  Last time used was at the college!

·        Characters need a group to help select & print characters out on transparencies.  After characters are traced, we will be painting reverse sides black.  This will be done prior to having them cut out, AND needs to be done prior to painting the front facing details.

·        WORK: Construction of props will be at Carolyn’s home, located at 82 Quaker Road (at the corner of Quaker & University Drive)  Take Salem Drive, pass Penn Beach School, turn Right on Quaker Rd., it’s the 5th house: Tan Rancher w/ Blue Shutters.  Last year we’ve found that groups of 4 to 6 at a time fit without over crowding in the garage.  Unless we have a children’s project, we do ask that adults only attend.  If working through meals, please brown bag or bring $ to order lunch in, we can easily loose track of time and before we know it we are all hungry! J

·        Decorating Team Volunteers will be responsible for the set-up of the décor.  Hopefully we’ll be able to do some areas early, this will depend on the college.  We will set up major décor Friday before the show – anyone who can take the day off or help is encouraged to join us, it is an all day affair

·        LOBBY TAKE-DOWN CREW volunteers will begin take down AFTER the PM show ends, load up trailer for transport, clean the lobby.  We usually take down & load up within 1 hour’s time.

·        STORAGE CREW team need to meet at Carolyn’s on Sunday the morning following the show to unload, sort, compile an inventory list and neatly pack items, transport & put in storage unit.
